Weight loss percentage calculator for challenges
Add everyone taking part with their starting and current weight. The calculator shows the leaderboard by percentage straight away, and how close each place is. Everything stays in your browser.
Leaderboard
How it works
Change in % = (starting weight − current weight) ÷ starting weight × 100
Example: Ben starts at 212 lb and weighs 203 lb today. That is 9 lb or 4.2%. The leaderboard sorts by this value, with the biggest change on top.
Why percent instead of pounds?
Seven pounds is a different step at 240 lb than at 140 lb. Percentages make it comparable, so everyone has the same shot at first place.
Gap to the place ahead
Under each name you see how many percentage points it takes to reach the next place. That is your duel: whoever is just behind can overtake on the next weigh-in day.
What if someone gains weight?
Then it counts as 0%. The leaderboard never shows a minus.
Doing this by hand every week?
The calculator stores nothing. For a running challenge, grab the free spreadsheet template, or let Lossboard do it automatically, with weekly winners, duels and badges.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate weight loss percentage?
Starting weight minus current weight, divided by starting weight, times 100. From 180 lb to 171 lb that is 5.0%.
How do you determine the winner of a weight loss challenge?
Whoever has the biggest percentage change from their own starting weight wins. That way it does not matter who started heavier.
Does the calculator work with kilos and pounds?
Yes. The unit does not matter as long as everyone uses the same one. Percentages stay the same.
Is my data stored?
No. The calculator runs only in your browser and sends nothing.
What does the gap under each name mean?
How many percentage points it takes to reach the place ahead. You can see right away who could overtake whom on the next weigh-in day.
