Weight loss group for couples and families
For two people, losing weight becomes a shared project, for a family it becomes a season with a most consistent of the week. To keep it fair when one starts at 210 lb and the other at 150 lb, points for a healthy pace count, not pounds.
Sticking with it as two
As a couple you see each other every day, including every small step forward. A group turns that into a game: who is ahead this week, who gets more step days, who has the longer weigh-in streak? With Lossboard, two or three people play for free.
Why points matter so much for couples
Whoever starts heavier often loses more pounds early on. In a pounds contest it would be over after two weeks, and whoever starved the most would lead. With points, a healthy pace relative to your own weight counts:
| Last week | Weigh-in | Change | Weight points | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tom | 210 lb | 205.6 lb | 2.1% | 32 |
| Sara | 150 lb | 148.9 lb | 0.7% | 50 |
By pounds Tom would clearly lead. By points Sara is ahead because her pace is healthier, and Tom gets a private note that a little slower is fine too. Check your own numbers with the points calculator.
Family group
Siblings, parents, cousins: a family group brings the family chat to life. All adults 18 and over can join. From five people, teams are worth it, for example by family branch, with the average weekly points as the team score.
Ideas for couples
- Whoever is ahead picks the next Sunday outing.
- Whoever earns more points in a week gets the final say on evening plans.
- Walk together: an evening walk earns step points for both of you.
- Try something new together at the end: climbing, a dance class, a long bike ride.
- Keep a joint streak: you both weigh in every weigh-in day, or the streak is gone.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is a weight loss group between a man and a woman fair?
Yes, with points instead of pounds. Full weight points go to 0.5 to 1.5% a week, relative to your own weight. Starting heavier gives no advantage, and losing fast earns no extra points.
Does Lossboard cost anything for couples?
No. Lossboard is free for up to 3 people, with every feature.
Can kids join?
No. Lossboard is for adults 18 and over.
How long should a season for two last?
6 to 8 weeks works well. Then start a new season with one tap.
Will my partner see my weight?
Not your kg, unless you share them. By default you see each other’s points and percent. With “Share my kg” you show your kg too.
